Empowering Veterans to thrive, protect, and serve
Back on the Block K9 (BotBK9) empowers a Veteran to return to civilian life through agricultural/farm based retreats and furthering the human/canine bond.
Our program has two equally mission critical components. We offer retreats designed to empower Veterans, support their families or caregivers and coach Veterans and their canine partner. All services are provided at no cost to the Veteran.
To be eligible for retreats, individuals must meet Veteran Status. We prioritize female veterans and veteran caregivers. Those Veterans who have suffered service-related traumatic experiences, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury and their caregivers are those we serve.
Back on the Block is military slang for returning to civilian life.
To defeat the 22 a day crisis we are
harnessing the heightened perceptions of a K9.
Retreats are focused on Veterans who have or desire a service dog and Veterans who have or desire to train a search and rescue or detection dog. The veteran K9 team train together, providing hands-on K9 training experience, fellowship, and purpose.
Retreats that promote hope and healing— designed for veterans, by veterans. Our retreats for caregivers are designed for caregivers, by caregivers.
